Jean Arp, (1887–1966), b. 1887 in Strasborg, worked with extraordinary skill and conviction in several different media – sculpture, bas-relief, painting, collage, drawings, tapestries. His international reputation can be attributed, in part, on the new authority he brought to biomorphic forms. Arp’s mature career began when he joined colleagues to found the Swiss Dada movement in Zürich (1915).    [Book ID # 1122]
