219 pp. 300+ b/w print reproductions. Foreword by Carl Zigrosser. Includes bibliography, index; 6 appendices, including prints done in color and patterns & designs for cloth. This is the definitive compendium of Kent's large body of work, written and compiled by Dan Burne Jones - a close personal friend, whom Kent selected, shortly before he died, to be his official bibliographer. The text identifies three phases of Kent's work: the late 1920s, a mystical period during which he lived in Newfoundland and Alaska; the early 1930s, more documentary in nature, when he lived in the Adirondacks and in Greenland; and the mid-1930s to mid-1940s, when his work became more politically and socially consciousness, and from which Kent has drawn his greatest renown. This generously illustrated catalogue includes information on medium, technique, subject matter, location, and edition sizes. Also included are preliminary working sketches and drawings, lesser-known woodcuts that Kent created with J. J. Lankes, textile designs, variant titles, and a complete bibliography.    [Book ID # 1003]
