Ltd. distributed by Libro Port Co., Ltd., 1995, first edition, 8vo (octavo) 6" x 8.5", hardcover, photographically illustrated boards with elaborate gilt titles, on glossy stock, no dust jacket as issued, This out-of-print book is brand new and was only briefly removed from its original shrink wrapper to scan and to verify that it is indeed a stated 1st edition.
Unpaginated (96 pages); 64 full-page color and duo-toned photographic plates. Stated First Edition, July 10, 1995. The limited text (a single page timeline) is in Japanese; accompanying text in English (title page). Hans Bellmer's beautifully disturbing images of "La Poupee," were hand-colored b/w photographs of life-sized mannequins that he constructed, and originally created for his anonymous 1934 book "The Doll (Die Puppe)" as a protest against the Nazi's cult of the perfect body.
Uncommon in this perfect condition.
