A European look at 64 American Skyscrapers by various contemporary architects, many of which no longer stand today or have since been landmarked if they survived the disastrous urban renewal trends in the U.S. during the 60's & 70. Featured, among several more, are: the Woolworth Building (Cass Gilbert), New York Central building [Grand Central Terminal] (Warren & Wetmore) Equitable Life (Graham, Anderson, Probst & White, the firm of Ernest.R. Graham, successor to Daniel H. Burnham & Co.), Book Tower in Detroit (Louis Kamper Inc.), the NY Evening Post building (Horace Trumbauer), Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce (A.S. Simberg), Tudor City (Fred F French Co.), Hotel New Yorker (Sugarman & Berger), the Sherry Netherland Hotel (Schultze & Weaver), the Paramount Theatre in New York (Rapp & Rapp), The Traymore Hotel (Price & McClanahan) in Atlantic City and University of Pittsburgh (Charles Z. Klauder).
