Masucci, Vincent A., Palazzetti: The Classics of Modern Furniture, New York, Palazzetti, 1992, third edition, Large thick 4to (11 1/4" x 11 1/4"), HB, Grey cloth boards w/ silver gilt cover and spine titles, black eps; in a black dj with silver titling, VG+/ VG. Mild rubbing to the DJ, small indentation near binding and 2, .5" closed tears to top right edge of dust jacket.

404 pp. Originally published in 1984 by Palazzetti, a manufacturer of quality reproductions of the classics of modern furniture designs. As reprints of this volume were undertaken, much was added to each subsequent edition, making this third edition the most comprehensive thus the more preferable for content; includes an interesting bibliography. Profusely illustrated in b/w and a few color photographs of furniture examples, presented both chronologically and by designer. Included with each piece are historical notes about the design/designer including photo portraits and measured spec drawings. Some of the 29 designers included: Antonio Gaudi, Eero Saarinen, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Carlo Bugatti, Josef Hoffman, Gerrit Rietveld, Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam, Takehiko Mizutani, Eileen Gray, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Rene Herbst, Pierre Chareau, Jules Leleu, Alvar Aalto, Frederick Kiesler, Oliver Bernard, Gerald Summers, Jean Frank, Charles Eames, Isamu Noguchi, George Nelson, and others. Text in Italian and English. Price list (1993) laid in. A marvelous and fairly uncommon reference book on furniture design history.    [Book ID # 1249]
