Roberto Aloi (1897-1981) was an Italian painter and sculptor. Over a period of 50 years, he published more than forty volumes, always for the same publisher, Ulrico Hoepli. This book belongs to his first publication series entitled L’arredamento Moderno (Modern Furnishing). The series began in 1934 and ended in 1964 with Series VII. This volume is the third series, first published in 1945, this being the second edition, 1947. The book contains 742 black and white photographs presenting the furnishings of the period, a survey of the taste and artistic tendencies of the time. An invaluable reference, despite its flaws.    [Book ID # 1429]
