Dreyfuss, Henry, Industrial Design: Volume 5, New York/Pasadena, self published, Henry Dreyfuss, n.d. [c.1960], first edition, 8.25" x 9.75", sq. 4to, hardcover, dark gray-brown cloth with gilt cover and spine titles, Near Fine/ no jacket as issued. Barest hint of fading to cloth near spine; interior clean, bright and unmarked, SIGNED undated, note on Henry Dreyfuss letterhead to Alvin Kabaker, Compton Advertising, Inc. laid-in (see our image).

Unpaginated, (56 pp.), illustrated orange endpapers and illustrated throughout in b/w gravure. Typography design by Doyald Young. This is last of five self-published reviews of the wide ranging projects undertaken by Henry Dreyfuss and his design staff on two coasts. Work and products for clients shown in this volume include the Automatic 100 Land Camera for Polaroid; various agricultural machinery for John Deere; the PAL razor and packaging for American Safety Razor Company; telephones for Bell Laboratories, Inc; the Bankers' Trust Building at 280 Park Ave, in New York City; various corporate trademarks, and projects for Aerojet General, Bausch & Lomb, Singer Co., Southern California Edison, The Teletype Corporation, United California Bank, and numerous others.

An uncommonly nice copy that succinctly documents the broadly diverse work of America's pioneering industrial designer and the founder of the American Society of Industrial Designers (note the bottom of the laid-in letter).
