Martin Eidelberg (with Derek Ostergard & Jennifer Toher); Eva Zeisel, Eva Zeisel: Designer for Industry, Musee Des Arts Decoratifs de Montreal dist. by University of Chicago Press, 1984, First Edition, quarto, 9" x 12", softcover, Light wear along top, right, bottom, corner edges of front cover (as usual for this vulnerable all black glossy cover); rear cover is the same, with usual minor scratching. Light spine crease, a pen mark (not remainder mark) to bottom page, VERY GOOD+.

Catalogue for a fifty-year retrospective celebrating the gracefully whimsical work of notable industrial designer and ceramicist, Eva Zeisel (1906 - 2011, she lived to 105!). Published in conjunction with the exhibition organized by Le Chateau Dufresne, Musee des Arts Decoratifs de Montreal and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. The cover image, one of the most iconic photographs of Zeisel's designs, is a nested stack of white Hallcraft/Century bowls and platters (1957) - so reminiscent of Harold Edgerton's famous shots capturing a milk drop as it strikes another layer of milk. 119 pp., profusely illustrated with 150+ b/w and color plates of the artist's beautiful organic and modernist product designs. Preface by Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., essays by Martin Eidelberg (with Derek Ostergard & Jennifer Toher) and by the artist Eva Zeisel (her essay, "On Becoming a Designer"). Bibliography of articles about/by Zeisel, exhibition checklist and list of marks at the back.

A nice copy of the bible for anyone interested in Zeisel's work and learning more about her remarkable life.
