Barnhart Brothers & Spindler Type Superior Printing Plant Equipment, Catalog 25A, Chicago, Barnhart Brothers & Spindler, n.d. [1926 ? ]. 25-A, a slightly different edition than #25; concensus seems to be that it post-cedes #25 by a year or so, as neither was dated, first edition, thick 4to (11.25" x 7.75"), HB, black-blue cloth boards w/ elaborate blind stamped decorative cover and spine titles, marbled dark gray-on-gray endpapers, round red printer's label on upper left of front pastedown, VG- / none. Extremities slightly bumped, hinges intact [archivally taped as a precaution], prev owner's inscription opposite title page, some fingersoiling particularly at front and rear sections, interior edges of text block slightly yellowed.
532 + 7 pp. "Types that talk" was their motto: profusely illustrated in b/w and various two-color. Numerous type faces, border designs, typecast ornaments, and "Selective Specimens of Preferred Materials for Modern Typography." A large section on "accessories" which features "Superior and Reliable products for Printers", a vast array of presses and such as the following: Superior Brass Rules, Superior Metal Rules, Cupcast Spaces and Quads, Superior Spacing Assortments, Railroad Metal Furniture, Superior Iron Furniture, Superior Silver Gloss Steel Chases, Superior Stereotype Casting Boxes, Superior Metal Furnaces, saws and binders, Superior Bindery Press and Backer, cabinets and cases, from the Hamilton Manufacturing Co., etc.
